Rage Quitting My Old Blog

Back in 2012, I had created a blog for those who preferred to read over watching videos. As of recent, one of my very first makeups ever got flagged to Google (Crazy, right? After all this time?). Yes, yes, it did have a little bit of blood in it (my eyeball was missing) but it has been fine all these years, and now all of a sudden, it was flagged against their terms and guidelines. This strikes me as odd considering it has all the steps, clearly shows it is a prosthetic, and I even go so far as to include a disclaimer not to scare the general public with faux wounds.

Anywho, I decided to rage quit my old blog and delete it. To be honest, it felt pretty good to rebel against a platform that just decided to attack my artwork without explanation. To make it more interesting, I actually just assumed it was my zombie makeup that was the offender. It turns out, even if you fight the claim that it is against community guidelines of Google, they still have zero requirement to tell you what the offending post is, why it is against their guidelines, or any information for that matter. They just decide one day to slam down the ban hammer on whatever they want to, and well.. they can.. because it's their platform.

With that being said, I did actually remember that I enjoyed updating my blog. It was a little confusing at first, and also an additional thing to keep up, but I did enjoy writing for those who wanted to reference back to some of my older stuff or maybe read my stories on what inspired me for that look. Sometimes blogs are just great places to talk, something I am very fond of.

This is a start to a (maybe) new beginning of my blog. Who knows, I may never touch it again :) But it is here if I want it.

Later realization: Funny thing is, I guess I never deleted this blog! I just unlinked pesky Google ads from it. Still a rebellion in my book.

Foundation Favorites | 2013

Late night post, I know everyone! I have been busy all day taking the Monster Denture FX class at Kosart Effects ! Now I always get asked, "What kind of foundation do you use?" "I have acne, what kind of foundation should I use to cover it?" "I have scars, what kind of foundation do you recommend?"  "You have perfect skin! What foundation do you use?" GOTCHA ! My skin is  pretty close  to clear, but I  DO  have break outs. My secret to perfect skin? (Once my long journey of clearing up my Grade 3 acne was over, of course) Not only a wonderful skin care routine, but of course, makeup. For those of you who have been following me for a long time, you all know that my skin has not always been as clear as it is today. Thank you all, seriously , for complimenting my skin. I may do a future blog entry about my personal skin care story, with further explanation of it all. Before I start my recommendations, I would like to say that my skin typ...

My First Video (Throwback) | Written 2015

I remember this exact day of uploading and creating this video. I actually started this video pretty late at night. Funny thing is, what you guys DO NOT see in the video are lamps balancing on my bed, towels down all over my bed so I don't get makeup on my sheets (inevitable), my messy finger printed laptop, full of body paint that WAS NOT water based easy to come off paint (ahem), and the general madness that was actually this video.

Alice Madness Returns Makeup Series | 2014

HOLY ALICE MADNESS RETURNS! You have no idea when I tell you that Alice: Madness Returns was my entire life when I first stated to play this game. To this day, Alice and her story  continue  to inspire me when I am having artist block, and overall the story of Alice in Wonderland itself will always have an influence on my style of work and imagination. I love the story of Alice, I love the patience and manners, the madness within her mind, and the creativity that spews from her noggin. While Alice in Wonderland has many renditions of her story and imagination, Alice: Madness Returns is a video game that explores a darker version of events that lead her to enter "Wonderland." This game is pretty graphic, as well as has an extremely dark story line, so I absolutely would not recommend it for kiddos. While parental discretion is advised for the game itself, my tutorials of the characters are pretty safe (other than y'know, plastic knives, rather frightening characters, an...
